Suddenly I realized I was not in Iowa anymore -- or even in Connecticut, for that matter.
The gentle ocean breezes, the warm sun and warm friendly people all told me that I could spend a lot more time on St. Croix and at Solmates.
Solmates, with its fantastic ocean view and great East End location, had every amenity. (It could use a toaster upgrade, however 🙂
The new furnishings were a pleasure. The private pool, especially in the early mornings and late afternoons, was a sheer delight.
The nearby eateries offered a variety of great food. I especially enjoyed The Pickled Greek for the food, fun, and unique homemade baklava ice cream. Duggin's Reef, just down the hill, was comparable to any fine dining anywhere, in my experience. The food and drinks were outstanding.
All in all -- Solmates is a true slice of paradise... "I go to come back!"
